Our story
"I didn't want to open another coffee shop. I wanted to build the kind of space I wished existed."
Founded in Bradford in 2024 by Fallaq - after years in STEM and a lifetime of creating art, exploring coffee, and connecting with people from every walk of life - Skylight Lounge was built around one idea: somewhere to work, create, connect and belong. Not just a place to serve coffee. A place to serve connection.
Our values
People first. Service that feels genuine, warm and memorable.
Accessibility. A multi-functional space for all ages, backgrounds and stories.
Creativity in everyday life. From our drinks to our events to the way the lounge feels.
Community impact. Supporting local artists, sourcing from local vendors, hosting workshops and creating opportunities for others.
Skylight Lounge began with a simple idea: to create a place where everyone feels welcome. It feels warm the moment you walk in, where conversations flow as easily as the coffee pours, and where community isn’t a marketing word but the heart of everything we do.
What's next is more events, more community, more reasons for Bradford to come together in one room. From intimate open mic nights to networking evenings, Skylight creates the moments that strengthen our city's cultural heartbeat.

MEET FALLAQ
"The one thing I love more than coffee is coffee culture"
After years in the corporate world of STEM and a lifetime of creating art, exploring coffee, and working with people from all walks of life, she dreamt of a space that blended everything she loved. A space that didn’t just serve coffee. It served connection.
Just seven months after opening, Skylight Lounge won Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the QED YAYA Awards. It wasn't a solo achievement - it was proof of a city that believed in the vision from day one, and the people who showed up and made it real.
And that's still only the beginning. Skylight keeps growing, keeps changing, keeps looking for new ways to give back to the community that built it.
